In Berne for 2 months - banking options?

Hi,

I'm doing research in Berne, Switzerland for two months (I'm a graduate student) and was wondering how I should take out money. I do have an account with Scotiabank and I was hoping that some Global ATM Alliance banks would be in Berne, but no luck. Should I open an account with a Swiss bank? Or just put up with the transaction fees?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would suggest looking at the PostFinance Student Set.

Hi--I should specify that I'm doing research only for 2 months (Swiss Post requires at least 1 year) and that I'm affiliated only with the Canadian government, not with a Swiss school (I'm studying at the Swiss Literary Archives). So I don't think that student banking option would work.

Do you have a Visa or MasterCard logo on any of you bank cards ? They will work fine here...
