VAT receipt from Apple shops UK

Hi- does anyone know if the Apple stores (in person, not online) in the UK can provide tax receipts so that if I buy something there I can claim back the VAT?

thanks!

Re: VAT receipt from Apple shops UK

They do provide VAT receipts and they use "Global Blue" for tax refunds. You won't get the full 20% back as Global Blue are (imo) a monopoly who charge roughly half of the refund as fees, but at least you can get your cash at the airport without having to return to the store.

Re: VAT receipt from Apple shops UK

Any shop in the UK is legally obliged to give you a VAT receipt for your purchases. Though PC world once told me they could only give me one if I gave them my full name and address (which is BS, they just wanted to add me to their mailing list).

I told the cashier I needed hers and the managers name as I would be reporting them to HM Customs. With a horrified look on her face she very quickly printed out the VAT receipt.
