At the moment, I am trying to start a website, part of which involves instant payments for access to other parts of the site.

At the moment, I have set it up with Paypal's IPN feature - i'm not too sure on it, as it was a bit flaky in the sandbox testing, and also, paypal do take a decent cut of every fee.

Is there any service with CS / UBS etc that is similar? I also think a service from them would inspire more confidence, especially with Swiss customers.

Look into Six Multipay, it may be what you are looking for. It is part of the group that handles the Swiss Exchange, so confidence should be there. Also, it is used by many companies of different sizes to do payments online.
