Business Credit/Debit Card

I have a simple question I am sure...

Where I currently work I am making purchases on behalf of the company for items varying from 10CHF to 2000CHF etc..

Currently I pay for this using my own cards and then invoice the company through expenses. The problem with this is I take the risk and rely on my expenses being paid like clock-work which is not always the case.

My employer is convinced that Business Credit/Debit cards do not exist in switzerlannd (A card in a businesses name). Is this the case?

Short of going with my employer with his/her card to shops etc.. Are there any other solutions?

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Re: Business Credit/Debit Card

he's talking rubbish, corporate credit cards exist.

btw, for my expenses I have to pay then claim it back, I have the same issue as you except my employer is sound when reimbursing me.

good luck with your inquiry!

Re: Business Credit/Debit Card

Then your boss is either not very well informed or...

As you are based in London, contact the UK branches of all the main worldwide credit card issuers and get the information you need from them to prove it.

Corporate business cards services are available in Switzerland and here are 3 Swiss website links to show this for starters...

https://www.americanexpress.ch/e/bus...ex.php?lang=en

http://www.cornercard.ch/ch/html/de/...ers/index.html

http://www.ubs.com/1/e/ubs_ch/bb_ch/credit_cards.html

Use Google Translate if German is an issue where applicable.

I think you are risking too much, especially when it comes to larger expense amounts, particularly as you state your expenses are not always reimbursed in good time.

Re: Business Credit/Debit Card

Unless it's a full business account (which makes the charging on a normal UBS account look like a bargain:msnmad) your employer is partly correct. Most cards are in the name of the individual with the payment from the company account.

No worries. You can always change your location.

The links in my above post are all Swiss ones in any case.

You can still ring the major card providers here and ask them directly for the info you need.

At least get a credit card, that gets you miles/points, so
you can travel around the world for free. American
Express points can be transferred to many airlines.
