Re: US credit cards in Switzerland

I suspect it's a very cursory check so the credit card company can nominally comply with anti money laundering regulations. I would call the company and handle that info over the phone.

Is this for some sort of credit limit increase? I've had U.S. credit cards for over 20 years and never been asked to re-verify my income information. I'm a citizen but still...

No, she has never asked for any credit line increases.

She got the following message: (she has to login to her credit card account and click on "secure message center" in order to read it):

Subject line: Important Information about your Account

Dear ....

Please take a moment to update your income. Keeping your income up-to-date gives you the opportunity to be eligible for credit line increase...
...
...
Please update your information now by:

- Login to your account
- Calling 1-800 ... available 24/7

THE ABOVE URL and phone number are also printed on the back of her credit card.

Sounds more like marketing than anything else. If it were me...I'd ignore it.
Who gives a flip about credit increases...unless they asked for one of course.

^This. She didn't ask for an increase but they'd like to "offer" her one. Ignore it. And whatever she does, tell her not to call them. That just gives them another opportunity to try and sell you life insurance, disability insurance, credit monitoring, etc.
