To declare or not to declare?

Hi,

I am here for the 2nd year and didint get the tax declaration to be filled yet.
They told me to wait for them to ask for it.

I am single and i guess I pay already a lot (almost 30%), living in canton Vaud.

Asking to my tax advise, i came to the idea that i could declare that i went to visit my own family which need assistance every week. This could give me back some money they say. Are you aware of this?

On the other side, i would need to declare that i own an appartment abroad and on my cash money i put in a swiss bank? How much is it this taxation on ca$h i own here in CH?

Thanks,
Giulio.

Re: To declare or not to declare?

I presume that you earn less than the minimum required for a tax declaration - I think it is circa CHF 130,000. That is why the tax authorities have not asked you to complete a tax declaration.

Your scheme to pretend to live abroad will not work due to various reasons. I presume that you have tax deducted at source in any event.

Think again...

If it is postfinance you are taxed 35% on e-deposito which can be claimed later for the year with help of gemeinde house. After all tax declaration and deductions you eventually will get small bugger all. But if you into small figures you always get something. I was refunded some radiculous CHF130 after another statutory tax deductions.

Not unless you tell them, there was withholding tax of 35% but for interest below 250? it was abolished last year.
