Lohncomputer.ch - Net wages calculator

I just came across this site - http://www.lohncomputer.ch/en/home.html which is by far the best I've seen for calculating your net wages. It also gives info on finding cheap health insurance.

If you know a better site than this, please tell me.

Re: Lohncomputer.ch - Net wages calculator

Sobering. When I did the Swiss federal tax calculator, an invented salary of 120k yielded a 14% tax bracket, whilst this one yielded a 22.5% tax bracket (N.B. - For Zürich & married).. I guess I was missing some non-optional contributions. :-/

Never have. Hadn't noticed that it included deducted taxes so that accounts for the error.

It does give you a breakdown of all taxes and contributations at the bottom of the page. Your deductions are not just tax but also various kinds of insurance.

Why doesn't married or single make any difference?

Changes for me too.
Thought it might have to do with how old a person is but it doesn't.
Weird.
Try a hard-browser refresh between tries. Might be a caching thing.

Re: Lohncomputer.ch - Net wages calculator

It doesn't take the community tax into account and the pension deduction is a fantasy amount because it depends very much on the employer.
I would look for another calculator.

It cannot be completely accurate.
But it does give a good 'ball-park' figure.

I thought of that too...but no. Tried a few age groups and it changed the tax based on kids/no kids etc...

if you pay sourcetax, then community tax doesn't apply, does it?

Figured it out.

It only changes single/married if you have NO children!

Does. But not at this time.
At the end of the year, when the tax calculation is done, the office checks if the tax paid was enough or not to cover everything. If you did a return, you might get some money back or have to pay based on where you live.

Looks like the amount is the same for either being married or having a kid.
Increasing the number of kids makes it apparent.
