How long to transfer money to UK

I transferred CHF 3500 from my PostFinance account on Thursday to my UK bank, after filling in a pink slip of paper at their office, they said it would take 2/3 days.. does that mean 'working days' as it is now Tuesday and the money hasn't turned up in my UK account yet... this I calculate as 4 working days.. should I panic yet and go kick the banks ?... ( I checked all the details IBAN / BIC etc. are correct )... or am I just over-anxious as I've not transferred money like this before, and just Googling I see lots of horror stories relating to transfers....

cheers

SEPA transfers: credit on 3rd working day.
Thursday: hand in pink slip at the post office
Friday: pink slip is processed by PostFinance. 1st day
Saturday, Sunday: don't count
Monday: 2nd day
Tuesday: 3rd day. Payment should be credited as of this day. It may also show up as "credited" in your UK account, but...
Wednesday: ...if your UK bank is HSBC, the payment shows up in your online banking account today, with a credit date of Tuesday.

Re: How long to transfer money to UK

i found transfers with postfinance to be quite slow compared to UBS. but just give it a few days. it will probably get there.

Post finance is always a day slower, that's why there charges are less, they hold your money for longer.

I also find that, with HSBC, credits from PostFinance often don't hit my account until late in the afternoon.

Re: How long to transfer money to UK

When I transfer money from UBS to either my Nationwide or First Direct account, I can see online the money has hit my UK account within one hour of transfer - pretty amazing! Don't think you need to worry just yet though. My girlfriend transferred some money from her PostFinance account to the UK and that took a good couple of days to arrive...

Same here through CS to my account in Sweden, but had to fork out CHF 23:- for the inconvenience of the bank helping me out even-though I had to do all the work myself online

Re: How long to transfer money to UK

Ok... so the money showed up in Santander - and they seem to have taken a chunk too... despite me ticking the box on the form this end and paying CHF 22 to pay everything here... about time I closed my account with Santander...
I've heard that the railway stations are good to convert to convert CHF to sterling... didn't even know you could do that... maybe I'll get my wife to take bundles of cash back to the uk each month... it'll probably be cheaper and avoid leaving a paper trail for the uk taxman....
