Credit Suisse Credit card billing date

Hello,

I'd like to ask a question about credit card billing. I've just received my creit cards (VISA and American Express) from Credit Suisse. When I applied for the cards I asked to be sent a monthly bill rather than paying off the balance by direct debit.

What i'd like to know, if possible, is when I am likely to receive the first bill. Will it be a month after the card was set up (roughly) as my credit card in the uk was, or does it run according to calendar months? (ie I get a bill around the end of each month).

Also, if anyone knows what the deadline for payment is after receiving the bill that info would be much appreciated too. In the uk it was about 20 days after the date on the bill but not sure if it's the same here.

If this information is available elsewhere on the forum and I haven't seen it, please feel free to just redirect me - I did have a look but didn't find an answer to this particular question.

Sorry, meant to say many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Re: Credit Suisse Credit card billing date

For ours the billing date is the 3rd of each month. Not sure if that's linked to when we got the card or if it's the fixed date for everyone (I think it's the latter)
You get 21 days to pay.

Re: Credit Suisse Credit card billing date

Be careful about how they set it up. I did the same thing. I wanted to link my Credit Suisse bank account to my two cards for easy payment. Got the first bill saying that I owed 82 chf as a minimum payment. 3 days later, CS automatically withdrew the entire statement balance from bank account to pay off the balance. This was not a serious problem for me because I was planning on paying it off anyway, but if you had a large balance on the Credit card and not enough in the bank account, that would be problematic. Make sure you contact them and verify that you have a minimum and not the entire balance paid off.

P.S You will get your first payable statement roughly a month after you use the card. I had it in a drawer for August and September and no bill came. I used it in the end of September for travel and got the statement at the end of October.

Thanks very much indeed both of you.

Does anyone know how long after receiving the bill I will have to pay it?

Many thanks

Sorry BelgianMum didn't see your post there. Thanks for that info.

Re: Credit Suisse Credit card billing date

My bill statement from 20.09 - 20.10 was payable until 11.11. It was direct debited around the 26th of October.
