Bank issue please help and advice

Hi all

I moved away from CH and now my bank called me to tell me that they will apply a fee of 30 CHF per months since I am not longer resident in CH and that they will block 5000 CHF on my account for the VISA ot they will cancelled the VISA.

I said I donīt agree. I said that this is not what I signed and that I donīt think this is correct.

What do you think? Is there a law protecting me? Have you experienced the same thing? Please let me know!!! I need some advices!!

Thanks

Giada

Unless you have property here, I would close the account, and tell them why.

IF it's UBS, that fee is indeed in the general fees list. But it still sucks.

I am totally fine in closing my account but I need a bit of time to open a new one etc and I donīt want to pay fees that I didnīt agree to pay.

What do you think? Can they charge me with new cost without me agreeing on the variation of the contract??

Banks are in business to make money. Don't expect them to do anything that in not in their interest.

You are a great risk to them at this moment. You could max your credit card and leave them holding the baby. How would they enforce such losses without what the propose? Open a new account wherever you are...

You did agree to pay them when you signed on the dotted line under a statement saying that your account would be subject to the fees applicable as per the latest published fee schedule as amended from time to time (or words to that effect). If you think it sucks (I do), close the account. Why do you need more time to open a new one?

exactly, and I have worked with a lot of people who did exactly that, so we've only ourselves to blame
