You had a contract with them to pay the annual charge over several years, they didn't note your change of address. You saved CHF 20 by not having your mail forwarded.

You would save yourself a lot of trouble by just paying them. Do you really think the SBB are going to make changes for you? Of course not, just learn from your mistakes.
I agree. Yes it wasnt your fault but its much easier to pay the whole thing

Hi, Swisspea.Yes, I changed my address. But I sent them the new one on the envelope when I sent back the demi tariff card. Also, my phone number and Email address have never changed. I think it is their intention of really trying to contact me or not..

I will call the guy tomorrow to discuss. I am willing to pay the full rate, but not the delay cost and punishment. It is not my fault.
The point being made is that you should set up mail forwarding with the Post, it is no at all unusual to get mail sent to your old address for months afterwards.

Really trying to contact you? For 220 Chf? Get over yourself, princess. Debts are enforceable as soon as the pay-by date passes. There is no obligation to send a reminder beforehand.

Hey, no need to be mean here!

Sure, you are right, debts are indeed enforceable as soon as the due date has passed, and, while there is no obligation from the company to send a reminder, that would be the normal thing to do, out of courtesy, from a customer-oriented company which values its clients' business. Oh wait, wrong country!

Perhaps the OP is used to this kind of customer service as a minimum standard, she just didn't know/didn't expect that here it's different.

Re: Urgent! help needed. I got a poursuite ( DE: Betreibung ) that I have no clue abo

Some updates: I called the manager in charge in the company. He said they didn't have my new address until they checked with Immigration bureau by the end of April. And made comments as Geneva efficiency etc. ( That company is in Zurich).

I said well, you had my new address since Jan 2012 when I sent back the card. But seems that you decided to ignore it and now come back to me for asking the delay, the cost of poursuite, and still I do not have the card...

I also tried to ask them to cancel the poursuite since apparently they also have faults during the process ( Not recording my new address, not ever try to call me or to Email me). But the manager refused.

I will just go to the Poursuite office this afternoon to have it paid. And later the demi tariff card will be sent to me.

I decided to do this to save all the troubles etc. Really no energy for that if to pay 300CHF will end this. I JUST HOPE IT WILL NOT LEAVE A BAD RECORD for this poursuite experience.

Well, Switzerland. Another lesson learned!

It is not about 220CHF or not. It is about paying for something that isn't all your fault! And they do have obligation to send reminders. If I ever knew the cancellation was not done, or I ever received an invoice, a reminder, I would have called and asked and solved earlier. I have never missed any payment.

Thanks. Now I know there is such system like that. Will definitely use it next time if I moved

Do you mean you sent the new address on the back of the envelope when you sent back the demi tafil card? If so you can hardly expect them to cross check the back of the envelope with the address they have on record. Most likely the envelope will be mechanically opened and immediately trashed.

The very least you needed to do is enclose a letter with the card indicating that you have moved and giving them your new address.

Re: Urgent! help needed. I got a poursuite ( DE: Betreibung ) that I have no clue abo

Some updates again. So I went to the poursuites office and paid it off.

The staff there confirmed me that there will be NO RECORD left. At least in Geneva they do not keep the trace. Now I need to do nothing. They will transfer the money to the company that issued me the poursuite, and 2-3 days after it is all clean and over.

Thanks all. Lesson learned. Hope this is helpful for others to avoid the same situation,
