moving canton and getting C permit - tax
hi, this is a really great forum, j'adore
I have an issue that is driving me mad. I have already asked at the company where I worked but they don't seem to know the answer.
I will be moving from Vaud to a canton with a lower tax rate in late august.
I have a B permit and I am taxed at the source.
The new Canton's authorities have told me that while registering with them I can also ask for a C permit because my B permit expires end of december anyway.
Assuming a do get a C permit when I move, my question is the following.
I believe that when people are taxed at the source a change of canton implies the new Canton's tax rate will be applied only starting from the date at which they take residency in a new canton.
However, given that I am getting a C permit, will the change have a retro-active effect, given that I have to compile a declaration for the entire year and the dec 31st rule?
Does anybody know?
thanks
