Hello all

I've just moved here and in a schoolboy error have forgot to bring my card-reader from the UK - so I can't transfer money from back home to here!

Does anyone know of a safe and reliable service that allows me to transfer money from my UK accounts (with Natwest) to my postfinance account here without needing a card-reader?

As is, would other banks do it for me?

Withdraw cash, deposit at bank. Or better still, go to your bank and ask if you can electronically transfer the funds using your UK card, straight to your new account (like paying a bill using EFTPOS)... ?

Can you get someone to post your card reader to you?

If you can find someone else with a NatWest reader you could borrow it to set up the payments.

I'm trying to avoid paying loads of charges for drawing money out with my UK card though.

Does anyone here have a natwest card reader perhaps?

Yes my parents are going to send mine but are on holiday at the moment.

I've looked but I don't think there's a Natwest branch in Geneva.

Can you not do the transfer via phone banking? With Halifax you can do everything you do online, but over the phone speaking to a fellow human bean

Hey everyone, I'm also a NatWest member and have to make an urgent payment (to cover tuition fees). Unfortunately, I left the UK without ordering a card reader and now find myself in a similar situation to the member above.

I've emailed, faxed, priority mailed, called, web-chatted, and even attempted to use a couple of Swiss banks' card readers* to access my account without any luck. Does anyone have a NatWest card reader they would be willing to part with for a short time? Of course, I would be extremely grateful and obviously happy to mail it back as soon as the transaction is made.

*Apparently the majority of UK banks use the same software with their card readers, so it was at least worth a shot.
