CHF to Euro

Hi all,

I am here a couple of months however my bank account is at present only in CHF (I know, I know!)

Anyway, I am off to France this weekend and need to change some CHF to EUR..

Can anyone please advise on what my best quick option is here. And what rates i can expect for his exchange?

I think I would be looking at exchanging around 2000CHF in total.

All help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Mimes

Re: CHF to Euro

Take your plastic card to your bank machine in the wall and ask it for the amount in euros they will be given direct from the machine with no fuss the rate will be near 1.20 since its been that for the past year!

Yes, most ATMs/Bancomats dispense Euros as well as CHFs.

Re: CHF to Euro

It gets debited straight to your CH bank account. Just make sure the machine says it does EU and then say how much you want to take out. It'll give you the Swiss CH amount that will be debited and if you say yes, it will give you the Euros. It's really easy and what we always do when we need a few Euros for travelling.

Re: CHF to Euro

As everyone says use the hole in the wall but I don't think you can get 2000 in one go. You could of course take your card inside and get the currency over the counter. In either case expect a to pay about 2% commission (difference between official exchange rate and tourist rate).
