tax issue of working/living in different cantons...

Hi. I live in Valais, and I just switched my job to Bern. On my salary slip, I see that my tax is charged by BE. As I live in VS, I should pay the tax in VS, which is at a different rate. So how should I deal with this issue?

Contact the relevant cantonal authorities and your company's HR department to get it changed. However, what sort of permit do you have? If it's not C or an EU-8 B permit, then you may have to move house. Some permits are tied to your job and you have to live in the canton where you work.

As you are paying tax at source it is your HR departments responsibility to sort this out: irrespective of the employers location they deduct tax and remit to the right canton.

The permit points are absolutely valid.
