B Permit not renewed, but got a Carte de Legitimation - what about my Swiss Pensions?

I am a non-EU citizen and came to Switzerland 4 years ago on a B permit.
Unfortunately, it was not renewed earlier this year, but luckily I found a position with an NGO. Now this is where it becomes complicated:

1. I had to leave Switzerland and hand in my yellow departure card at
passport control when I left the country.
2. I had to re-apply for a Entry Visa(typeD) to be able to come to
Switzerland to work for the NGO
3. I received the new entry visa and came back into Switzerland 3 weeks
after leaving.
4. The NGO has applied for my Carte de Legitimation in the mean time.

My questions are the following:

I paid AVS and BVG for the full time I was here in Switzerland, until I left the country officially) - seeing that my departure card was handed in to Passport Control at the airport and sent to the Cantonal Office de la Population - I guess they registered me as ''left permanently''

Seeing that I do not belong to a Swiss pension anymore, and do not pay AVS while at the NGO, how do I go about claiming my 1st and 2nd pillars to be paid out?
Will they pay them out, as I officially left the country and gave back my expired B Permit? Even if I returned 3 weeks later?

Any help would be appreciated!

I am not planning on retiring in Switzerland, and would rather use the money to invest elsewherre, where I can get a better rate.

where did you go when you left the country and are you resident there now?

I'd say until you permanently leave the country, no moneys will be paid out.

I returned to South Africa, my home country, as I had to re apply for the new visa there.
No, I am resident in Switzerland now for the next 2 years, under my contract with the NGO.
