Re: Problem with UPS for my amazon.de order

Old thread I know but relevant, I also ordered some memory from Crucial and UPS delivered it, now I get a bill valuing the shipment (EUR32.99) at 93chf, when I talked to them on the phone they seemed to think they were including shipping costs of CHF73 instead of EUR7 I thought a look at the shippers invoice would shut them up but they are still demanding payment.

Maybe better not order from Crucial if you can avoid it.

Re: Problem with UPS for my amazon.de order

It is not worth the hassle , to import electronic goods from germany from amazon.
Sometimes the objects can be cheaper here (check www.toppreise.ch), if they are not available here, send them to an address at the border (constance or lörrach for example) and pick them up there.
The process of importing and collect the duty is very expensive (the price for the handling alone is 18 sfr plus duty and gst.

Actually electronics are nearly always cheaper in switzerland at a number of sites if you want to waste money then order them from putside switzerland
