Pillar 3 tax deduct limit for arrived this year

Hi,

I relocated to Switzerland on 15.05.2012 and want to transfer some money to 3rd pillar. What is my limit for tax deduct for 2012? Still 6682 CHF or 8/12 or 7/12 or other figure?

Thanks for help.

Sbrinz is correct, you can save up to the maximum amount (CHF 6,682 for 2012), regardless of the arrival date into CH. Depending on the financial institution where you have your 3rd Pillar account, the payments can be made anytime during the year, before a cutoff date (usually mid-December of the year you are making contributions for). The maximum amount for 2013 will increase to CHF 6,739.

Yes, unbelievable! Kind of getting used to these "huge" percentages (interest on savings accounts, return on pillar 3, increase in maximum amount for pillar 3, etc.) here in CH. It took me just a litle over one year...
