IT Self-employed working across Europe

Hi All,

I am a Portuguese IT consultant and I have been working as a Freelance for 5 years.

I have my residence in Barcelona-Spain, however I am always working in different countries. For example, last year I worked in Spain and Denmark. The year before in Spain and Ireland.

Now I am planning to move to Zurich with my family. Currently I am working in a project in Bonn-Germany and I will be probably here for months.

I have several concerns about moving to Zurich.

1) Will I have any problems to fix residence in Zurich because I am working in Germany?

2) Can I work as a Swiss Self-employed working outside Zurich most of the time?

3) Will I have problems to find an apartment because I don't have a permanent job in Zurich?

Many thanks in advance

Re: IT Self-employed working across Europe

Can't help with 1) and 3), but for 2) you will need to show the Swiss authorities that you have several contracts with different employers before they decide if you are self employed and grant you the appropriate permit; it's not a decision you make I'm afraid. So if your work in Bonn is only going to be for one company you will be considered as an employee of that company.
