6-12 month prediction for strength of CHF vs. USD

Title says it all really.

The reason I ask is because I have the option of choosing either currency for my income, so I'm wondering which would be most likely to benefit from.

Decision maker for me would be the simple question: Where do I live during this time period?

Re: 6-12 month prediction for strength of CHF vs. USD

Since the SNB have linked the CHF to the euro your question really boils down to "prediction for euro vs US$" Then you have to forecast if the euro will recover or crash!

Myself I would always choose to be paid in the currency of the country I am located in & where the majority of my outgoings are as then there is little risk due to currency fluctuations (also little chance of benefit due to the same fluctuations).

Agree with that - very sensible. Especially as I assume you won't have the luxury to change every year?

In terms of the rates....look at what the banks or agencies are offering for the 12 month rates. They have EVEN better brains and more focus than us lot of muppets - they are maybe less likely to be wrong than we are

I live here (GE/VD) and can reneg every 6 months.

And I was actually hoping that I could take the lazy route and have any EF bankers come to my rescue...

Re: 6-12 month prediction for strength of CHF vs. USD

what would you do with USD if you got them? or would they convert to CHF for you?

i'd probably fancy usd over chf in the near term.

They'd convert to chf and direct deposit.

Interesting, any reason to support that choice?

What conversion rate will they use? Will it fluctuate?

HaHa, with all the Euros the Swiss have bought!
Past performance has no bearing on the future, hold as few Swissies as you can.
