Who has the better online banking in Switzerland ?

Hi,

8 years ago in my home country bank I could setup direct payments with an online signature no need to fill in paper forms for every contract to be direct debited.

8 years ago I could go in use my home country bank to setup a budget, have the budget money put into one account and rest on the spending account.

8 years ago I could export my bank details In a defacto standard format (qif) for further processing.

No intervention needed. All automatic. It was close to financial bliss

I've been at credit Suisse now for 8 years and there is no where near similar features in their Webbank and I'm giving up hope it will ever get better.

Which bank in Switzerland has some great online banking features that goes beyond checking my account and too-many-multistep for payments ?

No idea about CS, but both UBS and PostFinance are very easy to do all the things you mention.

I like Credit-Suisse direct net online banking. You can control automatic debits and those payment slips. Since using it, I have not needed to go to the Post.

All I can find in CS is that I can set up repeating payments. Individual payments are a bore to fill in and no way to say always put everything but 1500 CHF on a separate account to pay bills from.

And any setup for direct payment (i.e. not having to click 4 times to approve a payment) always required signing forms etc.

I tried using their e-finance demo but it seems as limited as CS in this.

I can see there is something called "e-cockpit" that sounds interesting but in their demo it does not work. Is that where magic happens ?

ah according to this page https://www.postfinance.ch/en/priv/p...pit/offer.html it is exactly what I'm looking for. Interesting!

checked out UBS guides at http://www.ubs.com/ch/en/online_services/manuals.html but seems same pre-8 years ago feature set.

i.e. no budget function, no export of data in something reusable, ...

by what measure ? they all seem to require a separate token generator (paper, phone or physical token generator) so unless there are known security holes I'm wondering what they are doing better ?

I'm with Post finance since i got in Switzerland, and until now, not a single problem, either with the online banking, or using the ATM machines or in the supermarket etc. Very satisfied.

ZKB is also in English and lets you export your transaction into an excel file. Their mobile app allows you to scan of your bills with your camera and it recognizes the data and fills out an orange payment check for you. Very easy, convenient and fast.

I can also set up and arrange automatic payments on their website

Re: Who has the better online banking in Switzerland ?

UBS: terrible data export in excel in a cell format that cannot be filtered or easily edited. Otherwise ok to use, perhaps I'm just used to it but I usually have all my bills paid within 2 minutes or so. Not saying it's brilliant at all, as the overview function of payments is really inconvenient if you ask me, but the payments work well as it remembers previous payments and automatically fills out all the information.

I feel your frustration. I miss my Wells Fargo and BofA online accounts. If you find a bank with similar features and they live up to your expectations let me know as well.
Good luck!
