Cashare

Hi all,

Has anyone tried Cashare? It's a peer-to-peer lending/borrowing site here in Switzerland. It seems similar to (but different from) Zopa in the UK. I was vaguely thinking about giving it a spin as a lender, and wondered if there were any first hand experiences.

Thanks!

Re: Cashare

So far - lower interest rates than expected. Good borrowers getting 7% or 6% after fees whereas I was hoping for 8%s and 7%s at an absolute bare minimum (line in sand). Been outbid lots of times. Platform definitely needs to be more transparent. Live default statistics are a must. At the moment I am very much working blind from some old statistics and working on the basis of a 2-3% ANNUAL default rate for 'B' rated borrowers (most are B) which is why I am reluctant to take a low interest rate. Secondary problem is lack of diversification - volumes are really low and sometimes the minimum contribution to a loan is CHF 1,500. It will be a bumpy ride. Anyone got some experience to share from other platforms?

Re: Cashare

Reviving this old thread as I'm interested in peer-to-peer lending in Switzerland. Does anyone have experience in this field here, as an investor? Any suggestions for alternatives to Cashare -- or any insights into using one of the bigger platforms in thE UK or in the Eurozone, and if so, how do you manage the currency risk?

Hands away. Wrong rating by cashare and poor customer service.
