3rd Pillar contribution when not working 12 months/year?

Hello All

I have just opened a 3rd Pillar account to make my 2012 contribution for the first time. However now I am wondering how much I am allowed to transfer since I have started working the 15th of August, so I have worked 4.5 months so far.

Can I contribute the full amount (CHF 6'739) or only the proportional part (CHF 2527)?

Many Thanks!

If you are a normal employee of a firm which operates a pension fund (ie you are not self employed) you can pay the maximum amount of 6'739 even if you have only worked part of the year. For 2013 you should act quickly. I guess your total taxable income for 2013 exceeds 6'739.

For 2013 you should act quickly.
In PostFinance website there is the following notice:

Important: Inpayments for 2013 must be made no later than Monday, 30 December, with maturity on Tuesday, 31 December 2013.

Thank you very much for your message. Very helpful.
