Tax deduction for GA in 2015 - 2016

Hi all,

Is it true that next year it will only allowed to declare a part of the cost of GA?
How could I get that information? I have to update my GA next week.

Thanks

Starting in 2016 one will only be able to deduct up to 3000 for commuting to work on the federal tax. By the Canton tax it may or may not be so. Each Canton has to decide on its own.

Hmm. Tough question. And I bet it varies from canton to canton too.

Wouldn't it be great if every town in Switzerland had its own office where taxpayers could go to get free, authoritative advice on such matters instead of relying on internet hearsay from other parts of the country?

We could call it a Steueramt.

Thanks. It's in the federal tax. I couldn't find this info in german, but it's exactly what a colleage told me.

Anyway for this year it will remain the same.

I thought every town (Gemeinde) has a Steueramt! At least every Swiss town I have lived in. Most even have internet sites with every conceivable information that one can possibly think of. On top of that I can drop off my taxes there and even ask pertainent questions. Try finding that in some other country.

Nice idea, but alas not the case around here.

There are only four for all of Ticino.

There's normally a gap on the tax form where you claim a "pauschal" for your season ticket.
