| | Reclaiming Income Tax paid internship
Between the period of July 2014 and January 2015 (6 Months) I did a paid internship in Zurich.
Every month I received 2000 CHF gross income and had to pay income tax and pension over that.
Now I'm wondering if I'm able to reclaim any of the paid taxes.
Let me know if there is any more information required, I have absolutely zero knowledge of the tax system in Switzerland.

Well you must have been taxed at source, and if you had filed a tax return before 30.4.2015 you just might have received a little bit of tax returned. But if you were living in a high tax area you might have to pay more tax!
So really, computer says no....

Yes I got taxed at source. I did not fil a tax return at any time, and I'm not living in Zurich nor Switzerland any more. | Quote: | | | | | Well you must have been taxed at source, and if you had filed a tax return before 30.4.2015 you just might have received a little bit of tax returned. I think in theory you can do a voluntary tax return - but did you make any payments or have anything claimable that could mean the tax-at-source was too high because it didn't take them into account?
Typical things that can add up:
- additional Pillar 3a pension payments
- travel pass
- claimable costs like training
If not - chances are your tax isn't too far off and it's not worth doing, especially as it would one for 2014 and one for 2015!

Tax at source assumes about 10k of deductions in any case.

Basic allowance will assume about 2.5k for health insurance which is the max deduction, 3.5k for lunch at work travel & training costs.
