Taxation not taking in account my daughter?

Hello,

I have a Swiss passport and am registered here year-round. My partner & daughter (EU passports) however are only registered at my address from May-October each year. It seems the taxation office does not take into account that I have a daughter to support. From what I have found out it would only take her into account if she was registered at my address on the 31st December, is this true and is there anyway around this?

Many thanks.
