| | Postfinance: lower interest rates & higher fees
In an interview the Postfinance CEO gave hints towards lower interest rates for saving accounts and higher fees.
It becomes more and more difficult to find interesting investments to protect your savings.

It becomes more and more difficult to find interesting investments to protect your savings. | | | | | That is by design, Central Banks want you to invest in the stock market to preserve this bubble they have going on for years. Normal savers have been devastated in the last years, partially offset by lower mortgage payments for those who own their house.
I don't know where Switzerland even got its banking reputation from, as all the products in the market are outdated, expensive and dysfunctional at best. UK is decades ahead on infrastructure and on-line offerings. Heck, we don't even have Fast Payments...it's just 4 banks here, how hard could it be.

That is the main point you got stuck to? You're right, I forgot the cantonal banks because they are the shittier of them all. That doesn't change the essence and that the majority of people have an account with UBS, CS or Postfinance, one worse than the other in services and offerings but equally expensive.

Swiss banks are great because they don't tell anyone anything (And this is obv. changing), not because their online banking is great.
Besides if you had enough money I am sure the service they will give you will be super.

Banking secrecy and banking laws. Swiss bankers are no better than any others, they just had a set of rules that allowed them to operate outside the scope of taxmen, up until now......
