Re: Multi Currency Credit Card ["Revolut"]

Is not possible to pay with organge slips, sorry. However there is a local IBAN in CH to make the transfer in CHF for free now.

By the way, they are in promotion to give free cards again - just 10chf of top up are needed, which it can be used after with the debit card

I had it now for more than 2 years and used in many travels and I have to say is great for travelling. Free ATM withdraws and the real exchange rate saced me tons of fees from mean swiss bank and card providers.

Re: Multi Currency Credit Card ["Revolut"]

Seems like Revolut has changed how they send money to Swiss accounts recently (from your Revolut Card to your Swiss CHF Account).
It used to be completely free, 0 fees, but the new provider is now applying intermediary bank fee.
I just lost 14.- CHF.
Not a big deal but they never mention anywhere that they changed the intermediary and fees WILL apply.
Support just told they just come to know about it recently (YEAH, RIGHT!) and that they are working on fixing it asap but currently no estimation (I don't think they will).
Looks like the transfers are done through Barclays now

Re: Multi Currency Credit Card ["Revolut"]

Thanks for this thread. I got myself Revolut card this year and used it a lot in my last trip. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much other cc skims customers.

I topped up using Migros cumulus credit card and can confirm there was no top-up fee applied by Revolut.

Also Migros Cumulus credit card did not charge for this transaction, otherwise they apply a surcharge to non-Swiss transactions that are in CHF.

I liked getting instant update of each transaction's exchange rate, fee etc.

I also liked the security provision in the app like disabling/enabling of ATM withdrawals, online payments etc.

For cash withdrawal from ATM, there was a small fee after free limit. Nothing to complain.

Overall thumbs up to Revolut.

Re: Multi Currency Credit Card ["Revolut"]

Has anybody here used Curve?

It seems similar to Revolut, although with some potential advantages to those who may wish to accrue miles on their underlying cards.

I did try curve when it was first available but then as a resident of Switzerland, they stopped providing the service in January due to banking laws or something. They now only provide to residents of the EEA

Yes I also noticed that. Funny thing though is when I register for their app using my +41 mobile number I get an SMS inviting me to download.

I sent Curve support an email yesterday asking whether residents in Switzerland are eligible or not. No reply yet but will respond here if the answer is affirmative. May be of interest for some people.

Re: Multi Currency Credit Card ["Revolut"]

Has anyone ordered a replacement Revolut card lately? Mine is expiring at the end of the month, I did order at the earliest possible date but was wondering how long it takes (Revolut say 10 days).

Same situation in March this year for me, it arrived within 4-5 days (from Poland) IIRC.

Just got the response from Curve. They say they are unable to issue to users in Switzerland.

Ah, just add a CAD currency account in Revolut and add the money using the TransferWise mastercard. I do this to load CHF onto my Revolut and there aren't any fees. Revolut will tell you if there is a fee or not before you submit.

I also want a Revolt or/and Transferwise. Which one works best with Canadian dollars (to CHF)?

Same here, from Germany in my case. Nice that it works as well with replacement cards. And it is now valid for 5 years.

both will allow you to send CAD into your account with them, make a currency exchange from CAD to CHF within their system, and then transfer out to you CHF account.

what would you consider as "working out best"?
