Prepaid credit card - Where to get and which one is the best?

My friend came to visit me in Switzerland and he won 3500CHF in the Casino
He continues to travel in Europe and he would like to put it in a prepaid card for traveling instead of caring cash.
What's the best & fastest way to get a card like that?
Thanks in advance for the answers.

Prepaid cards are available at Kiosks throughout Switzerland:

I cannot tell you whether it's the "best", whatever that means.

Most banks and Post Finance have Swiss Cash card which has replaced travellers cheques. Guarenteed money if card is lost.

Re: Prepaid credit card - Where to get and which one is the best?

Try the OK Card at the kiosks.
I can personally recommend..load the cash there directly at the kiosk
withdrawals possible at ATMs and POS payments also possible.

Goodluck!

Check the fees for withdrawing cash from a machine that is not from your own bank issuer.

dEfinitely should keep Revolut in mind. They should start offering multi-currency, converting between currencies at spot rate (meaning there is no loss from the conversion!)
Quite stunning offering!

The SBB also offer a number of possibilities. You can get the card from the Zurich train station.

Re: Prepaid credit card - Where to get and which one is the best?

I would suggest the SBB money changing office. The 'travelcard' system works across the Maestro network, which means that he should have no problem getting small amounts of cash from ATM's as he travels..

Is revolut card still a good option?
How much does it cost, to charge the card?

I just need it to purchase flights and some small international staff, buying something from ebay or so...

Thanks

Re: Prepaid credit card - Where to get and which one is the best?

Every card provider is different. Read the TOC for the card your got. No one can give you any meaningful answer for "does my VISA or MASTERCARD charge a fee". It depends on the card issuer. I got card which did charge 3% from every transaction, likewise I got card which charged nothing but instead gave me back 3% of every transaction!

It was about 10 years ago in Poland, an aggressive campaign to attract new clients by a new bank. I think it was 2% payback to be precise. Most shops in Poland charged extra for payment by card so this card was fantastic as it compensated back the "extra expense".
