ETF/Fund TER: are these costs tax deductible?

Yo everybody!

My name is Giorgio and I am facing my very first tax declaration in Kanton Solothurn (I live in CH with a C permit, but have limited German knowledge).

Do you think I can deduct from my taxable income the TER costs of ETFs/Funds I own in a brokerage account? My broker doesn't itemize ETF/Fund TER costs. I have no explicit Rechnung for these costs... would it be enough to show the taxman the fund prospectus listing the fund TER?

Sind die von der Bank in Rechnung gestellten Kosten tiefer als die Pauschale, können Sie nur die effektiven Kosten abziehen.

Thank you!

Giorgio

Generally, if actual (effektiv) management costs cannot be determined, then a lump-sum (pauschal) approach is to be taken. In the case of Ct Zurich, the pauschal is 0.3% of the tax-value of the managed assets:

Re: ETF/Fund TER: are these costs tax deductible?

Thanks!

I believe I found the "Kanton Solothurn equivalent" of the link you posted for Kanton Zurich:

(from page 100 onward)

https://www.so.ch/fileadmin/internet...2016-02-16.pdf

...but I am still not clear on whether the ETF costs are deductible.

I am still a little bit scared by this sentence: "Sind die von der Bank in Rechnung gestellten Kosten tiefer als die Pauschale, können Sie nur die effektiven Kosten abziehen."

Thanks in advance for your kind advice!
