Basel Stadt Tax deductions: Financial support to dependent parents

I would like to ask your view/experience on tax deductions for dependent parents living abroad.

To my understanding, it seems Basel Tax authorities would require:
A) To proof financial dependency (e.g. Tax return or certificate from Foreign State)
B) Proof transfer of a minimum amount of 6.000 CHF/year

Have you requested this deduction in previous years? How it worked? In my case I can prove the first condition but only transferred 4.000 CHF/year

Any advice/suggestion would be very appreciated

Thanks

Yes I tried to do this and frustratingly, after compiling various paperwork and obtaining evidence, the question was asked "does your father have more than £xxx (can't remember the figure) in assets and due to my father owning his house, I/he immediately did not qualify.

If they had asked that question at the start, it would have saved me a lot of effort.

In Geneva at least, u have to show that they are incapable of providing for themselves (i.e if they are invalidated) and that they don't have an annual income above a certain amount.

Sorry for the delayed response.
They asked for multiple documents which confirmed that parents needed financial assistance as well as official letters which indicated the same. The higher your payments, the more sensitive they become. Funny.....
