Weird...I still get the Citibank GB IBAN Nr. as mentioned here previously for a CHF payment.... Can someone else verify?
If you're in the old account management, it will show the GB IBAN. To see the Swiss IBAN, you need to switch to the beta version.

In this case would be IB , so I would have to pay the difference between that 15% and 35% from Switzerland?
You pay the full amount of ordinary swiss income taxes that one has to pay on this dividend given your worldwide income, wealth and personal situation, it's not a constant percentage, and get the american 15% back by filing form DA-1.

However you might not get full 15% back if you earn too little and wouldn't pay enough in swiss taxes back - the tax office can't afford to be a sponsor.

Quote:
At which part of the year we have to declare what we earn extra with the dividends? you need to pass the barrier of the 120k if Im with the B Permit?
In ZH you'd need to file also if you have 200k+ wealth or 2.5k+ non swiss taxed at source income per year

In BS, it seems, if you received any dividends or have any wealth worth talking about whatsoever:

"Eine ergänzende ordentliche Veranlagung wird durchgeführt, wenn neben dem quellenbesteuerten Einkommen weitere, nicht quellenbesteuerte Einkünfte (Einkünfte aus selbstständiger Erwerbstätigkeit, Einkünfte aus Sozial- und anderen Versicherungen, Einkünfte aus Wertschriften oder Liegenschaften, Unterhaltsbeiträge usw.) erzielt worden sind oder Vermögen vorhanden ist" [link]

Thanks. I just opened the account (well, still pending documents approval) and there is only an option where I choose Cash or Position deposit and then choose currency CHF.

May I ask how to switch to beta version?

There is a button in the corner. But it's sometimes not there. Anyway, when you reach the beta page, it will look something like this (see below).

I assume this IBAN is the correct one, this is just some screenshot I found. You may try to send a couple of CHF first just to make sure they arrive .

Well that's the point, is it not?

Don't take my word for it, but I read somewhere that UK Citibank is plugged into SIX. The IBAN is Swiss (CHxxxx) so the transfer is routed locally and not using SWIFT, hence no stupid fees.

IB's payment instruction now lists a CH IBAN for that account. Using it, the payment goes over SIC instead of SWIFT and is free.
Where is this? They still give me an IBAN starting with GB for CHF payments

Re: Interactive Brokers account

The CHF and the GBP accounts are located in UK and any CHF deposits made from CH are charged as the expensive International Transfer. I raised this up with their CH call centre and they weren’t fully aware of this CHF account location.

Does anyone in here also have a “Family & Friends” Advisory Account? I ask because since they upgraded the Account Management Section it’s now riddled with errors when you add a new client.

Re: Interactive Brokers account

When I logged the details in my online banking system (UBS) it said that it would be treated as an international transfer at a cost of CHF5, but when the actual transaction went through, it looks like it was handled as a normal domestic Swiss transaction. I received the full amount in my IB account with no fees deducted at either end.

today when I login, I get this new interface which has CH IBAN for CHF payments. I scheduled payment through UBS, its says it will be considered as domestic transfer which is free (or .30 chf). Lets wait and see how much is credited to my IB

That's what I wrote . You need to use the beta version of account management to see the CH IBAN. I sent CHF to IB using this method last week. It was free of charge and the exact amount arrived at IB just one day later.

I would stay away from tech companies at the moment as they are overvalued and will fall very steep upon the next crash. For now, go defensive like Pharmaceuticals as they ride the turbulent waves quite afloat.

Re: Interactive Brokers account

It seems that Roche shares are in two exchanges:

1. EBS with ticker code as "RO"
2. VIRTX with ticker code as "ROG"

Does anyone know of any the differences owning either shares?

Re: Interactive Brokers account

https://www.roche.com/investors/faq_...tm?tab_id=tab0

Kind of equity / Abbreviation / Ticker
Roche non-voting equity securities/ NES = in German “Genussschein” / SIX:ROG
Roche bearer shares / RBS = in German “Inhaberaktie” / SIX:RO
American Depositary Receipt / ADR /OTCQX:RHHBY

Do non-voting equity securities confer the same rights as bearer shares?

Roche Holding Ltd places no restrictions on ownership of its shares and non-voting equity securities. Each non-voting equity security confers the same rights as one share to participate in available earnings and any liquidation proceeds remaining after repayment of the nominal value of the shares and the participation certificate capital.

Do they give you an email with the CH IBAN? or they tell you at the time when you create the account?
