Need Accountant Recommendation for Swiss Taxes

Hi everyone! We are US and Swiss citizens who lived / worked in Switzerland for the first 9 months of 2016 and are in need of an accountant who can help us complete our Swiss taxes (we have a US counterpart already). We do not speak German, but do speak French, if someone knows a good accountant who can work with us in either English or French. Also, if you have guidance on cost estimates that would be great. We have been told that 200 CHF is typical (we filed Swiss taxes in 2015 too so there is a starting point). As a side note, the accountant we used last year was a total disaster, so that's why we are looking for referrals this time around

Would greatly appreciate any advice you have and recommendations! Thanks!

Re: Need Accountant Recommendation for Swiss Taxes

Why not contact the cantonal tax office and see if there's anyone there who could go through the forms with you?

Re: Need Accountant Recommendation for Swiss Taxes

Just download the "Private Tax 2016 " software from your relevant municipal website and install it on your laptop and do it yourself.
This is the same software the tax consultants will use to prepare your tax return.
The software is in German, but it's not difficult to work it out yourself.
Once complete you can print out the whole completed tax return and submit it to the tax authorities.
You can also get a printout of your provisional tax calculation for the year.
I did my own tax return for the year 2016.

I also don't think that you need an accountant if you can use the software. Also, you can ask anytime to your Gemeinde.
