Form for 3a pillar

Hi all,

I am in Kanton Aargau and I need to fill in the form for the Steuererklärung (I am taxated at the source) to get the money back since I saved the maximum money on the 3a pillar (CHF 6768) during the year 2016.
I am not sure what documents are required, in the form from the Kanton Aargau that I need to send back it is specified Lohnausweis (which I got from my employer - this is fine) and also the "Original-Steuerbescheinigung der Vorsorgeeinrichtung für den vorgenannten Zeitraum". Can someone help me figure out what is this second document - should I ask my bank or my pension fund to testify that I saved this money?

Two other questions:
- what is the Adress-Nr. and where one can find it?
- how long does the reimbursment of the 3a pillar typically takes?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Form for 3a pillar

My bank sends me the document automatically at the start of the year. So the bank or the insurer where you have your 3A account should send you this.

How long it takes till you get something back? Months, years? Depends on your Steueramt. Mine are still working on my 2014 tax return.

Re: Form for 3a pillar

All right, then I probably have this form in my files, just need to dig into what I received. You are still waiting for the 2014 deduction... how can it take that long? Thanks a lot!

I heard also that one can deduct the money for lunches at work (I can't come back home during lunchtime) - does one should do it at the same time that the 3a pillar, that means now for the year 2016? Are some kind of receipts required?

Re: Form for 3a pillar

I would like to help but could you please provide a link to the form? Sorry I can not be arsed to search it for my own.

Lunch, insurance, travel to work (up 20'000km / year), etc. are allreadly included (or better deducted) in tax at source calculation. Lunch detuction is only needed for the real tax declaration. And also there it is a lump sum when you work and not actual expenses.

Looks like they are asking you to fill up this form:

Re: Form for 3a pillar

For the question about tax deduction for lunches, I did not find any form, that is why I asked about what people know.
I think this form is about the daily trip to work:
https://www.ag.ch/media/kanton_aarga...tsweg_2013.pdf

However, if you say now that such deductions are already included in the source taxation (lunches and trip, as far as I understood from your message) then I don't need to take care of this - I guess it is a generic deduction for workers if you exceed a certain distance betwen home and work? This was the type of information I was looking for.

Thanks!

Hi, I have Quellensteuer and Pillar 3a as well, I mailed today my deduction claim

Apparently for Quellensteuer there is a simplified procedure that allows you to claim a reduced set of deduction (pillars, family, disabilities) without having to file a full declaration with all receipts, assets etc. And this is probably what you are doing, so it should be fine.

Lunch is already included in Quellensteuer, you declare it only if you do the full declaration; the same for transportation (and anyways there is a minimum amount, at least here in ZH) and other deductions.

Going back to your quoted question, yes, the bank/company managing your 3rd pillar should have given you some sort of certificate in January or February. As an example, Postfinance gives you a PDF in the website.

At the end, after consulting a little bit with friends, forumers here and Steueramt, I declared only my Bruttolohn and the 3rd pillar, attaching only two documents - the same as you are doing.

Re: Form for 3a pillar

Oh, I forgot the last two questions:

- Address, Nr. is your street address and building number
- In ZH they say up to 18 months (it's written on the form)

-------------------------------------

Is anything wrong with the forum? I can't properly quote nor edit my messages, I always get a blank form...

It has to do with the special characters - in your case the use of the umlaut in für. See here for the workaround:

All right, thanks for all the details!

So as the lunch and transportation costs are already included, you are right it is only about 3a pillar, plus specific deductions like in my case the contribution to further education. The latter is about German classes I follow - as I think many readers of the forum do the same, please note that they can be deducted in the same way than the 3a pillar.
As for the 3a pillar official certificate, indeed I found it online in my e-banking.

Finally, the Adress-Nr. is not the street/number, but a specific number that the administration gives you in context of your taxes declaration. As I could not find it anywhere in my set of documents from CH, I asked my Kantonal Steueramt and only with contact details (name, address), they kindly gave the number to me. It can also be useful for other readers. Maybe you can still correct for it if you contact your Steueramt, since you have just sent your documents...?

Thanks again!

I sincerely apologize for the misleading information!
I checked the copy of what I sent, there is no "Adress-Nr" section in the form for Kanton ZH; I interpreted it as "Strasse, Nr" present on some forms. Sorry again!

Re: Form for 3a pillar

No worries for the misunderstanding!
So maybe the Address-Nr. is a number specific to Aargau Kanton, since you say you don't have in ZH papers...
