does income tax need to be filed when exiting Swiss/EU?

I have not filed my tax return for 2016 yet but have an extension granted until November 2017. My new accountant is helping me out with this.

Question: if I ever decided to move out of Switzerland and EU, do I still need to have the tax filed? or will this be taken care when I get the pension reimbursed as I am exiting the country?

If you leave CH yes.

Possibly depends on where you go with regards to the pension, if your required to have a pension by law in an an EU country of your choice then no for the statutory part, several EU countries will say yes.
