US Taxation Swiss Pension

I've paid US income tax on both my, and my employers', pension contributions while living here in Switzerland. My question concerns when I move back to the US. Does anyone know how I'll be taxed when I retire in the US, ie, will I be taxed again by the US when I receive my monthly Swiss pension?

Re: US Taxation Swiss Pension

According to this Ernst & Young presentation "Novartis Swiss Employer Pension Plan Taxation US/Swiss Income Tax", p. 9:

"The distribution is taxable to the extent that the amount received is in excess of the US tax 'basis'. The basis is the amount of employer and employee pension contributions that have already been taxed by the US on the way into the pension plan."

https://www.pensionskassen-novartis....US_Buerger.pdf

Your pension plan administrator should be able to help you determine the basis, i.e., the employer and employee contributions.

Re: US Taxation Swiss Pension

Believe in your case it will only be taxed by the Swiss.
