Paying Tax
Well after three years in Switzerland I have returned to the uk.
All my taxes were paid for 2016 and after 5 months of being dormant I closed my UBS bank account , giving the odd CHF 76 left in account to charity.
I have now been informed by the large company that does my uk and Swiss tax returns , I might be liable to pay further tax in Switzerland. It's an edge case.
I was made redundant in the uk and it seems the 3 years I did switzerland , makes 3 years of redundancy pay liable to Swiss tax , rather than uk tax.
I was a uk employee when made redundant.
Anyway I'm not disputing the tax, if payable.
My question is ;
How the hell will I pay the Swiss tax man without a Swiss bank account ?
I don't want to take the money as cash , fly to Switzerland and pay via a pink slip at the airport post office. The take flight back to uk.
At the moment I'm under going chemotherapy for cancer , so that would be out of the question anyway due to fatigue.
Thanks for any replies.
PS I bank with HSBC in the uk.
Would they be able to pay the Swiss tax man ?
