| Seeing this thread for the first time my first comment (though it refers to a post 2 years ago) is that US ADR's are only available on the larger international UK companies. Not possible on most FTSE 250 or small caps.
If you're only trading UK equities you could try SwissQuote. Maybe City Index will allow you to trade. I have an account with IG Index (IG.com) and have not received any notice from them.
If you want to trade Indexes, Futures, Options etc then you likely need a full service broker or bank. The Swiss majors tend to be expensive for derivatives unless you have millions with them, but two to try are Corner Bank and Saxo both whom also trade equities. I think the minimum for Corner is CHF250K for a full service (ie. equities and derivatives) trading account. Probably much less for equities only. I don't know about SAXO's minimums in Switzerland as I use them only via one of our companies within the EU. | |

As recommended by a few people on here - I transferred everything from Hargreaves Lansdown to Interactive Brokers, it was quite simple and Im very happy with Interactive Brokers. Easy to transfer money to my account and nice app for the mobile !
