Tax Return

This has probably been answered multiple times, but I can't find anything...

Before filing your annual tax returns, do you get anything from the tax office? Anything at all?

I called the local tax authority (ZH), and was told I will receive forms to complete in June (I moved here in March 2017)... which seems to contradict everything else I see online....
