Tax return in Germany for an expat family living in Basel

Could someone please recommend a company who can prepare a tax return for us in Germany? We are an expat family living in Basel. Our main tax return is being prepared here. Since we have recently purchased a property in Germany, we need to also declare it there, but a couple of the tax consultants I contacted in the vicinity (Weil am Rhein, Loerrach) have rejected us due to capacity reasons. Many thanks!

Why do you need to declare taxes in Germany? I have a house in Germany as well and only declare that in Switzerland (German tax authorities are aware of this)

Depends. Maybe the Germans determine the tax as a function of your income as well as the value of the property.

In Italy, they (the Italians) will send you a tax bill for the property, but there is no need to fill out any tax forms.

They only tax I pay is the so called Grundsteuer, but that does not need a tax declaration, that is based on the value.

Re: Tax return in Germany for an expat family living in Basel

If you have real estate in Germany which is rented out you will have to file a tax declaration in Germany called “beschränkte Steuerpflicht “= means you have to declare the rent which you receive as income. But you can also deduct charges for the real estate.

This rental income is also part of your Swiss tax declaration but it is not taxed in Switzerland it is only added to your Swiss income in order to determine you Swiss tax rate.
The tax rate will be applied only on Swiss income=revenue.

Germany has no taxes on wealth=assets=fortune.
Don’t mix up income/ revenue and wealth.
