Guys,

please stay away from these guys and spread the message.

They are really a bunch of cheaters. I made a mistake to invest some money through them, stopped the investment at a certain time but I do not know if I will see what I invested in the future….

I wonder why the authorities do nothing…

Best regards,

A.

Interesting thread, so who should you take investment advice from? Anyone got solid results over the last years and willing to share? Many thanks!

Re: Guardian Wealth Management

Dear ALL,

Stay away, I have personal experience and unless you are happy to loose all your hard earned cash and enter in to legal battle for years DO NOT EVER ENGAGE with them.

The comment about them getting after people or threads that enter negative comments about the company - well that is the reason they can keep staying in business!!

There is an old story in the Daily Mail - and I think this will have to be my last resort as well to get me over 120K Euros back..

If you look a bit closer their HQ is a farm in England and their so called Head of Compliance- is a fake person "Lisa Dean" she does not exist.

Their Dubai office manages "client support" good help us all.
Please also stay away from their old Client advisor, who is now in charge of a company called Prosperity Investment banking based in Basel - Hes cut from the same cloth..

All of this is fact, and I just want to warn people to not get in the same situation I have been for years. They target Expats and have no scruples using phrases such as they have been advised to seek you out based on your colleagues recommendations..or coming to your offices.

Please DO not engage.

Re: Guardian Wealth Management

They're back on the prowl - dragging up this old thread as they've just called "as they work with a large portion of (my) colleagues"....

The funny part is, they clearly went through my linkedin profile, which hasn't been updated and told me about my employment history...

Introduced himself as working for "GWM Switzerland", and asked if I recalled a conversation with his colleague a few months back.

They haven't even picked a good name. Would I really hand over my cash to a load of people who sound like they are Jeremy Corbyn fanboys.

This one is always funny - they seem surprised when I say "yes, I told him to f**k **f".

I didn't say that to the the first one who called, or probably even the second, but really they don't get the message no matter what you say

If they don't, just arrange an in person meeting with them and don't show up. Or if you want to have fun meet them and sell them something.. a self-help book. Insist it will change their life!

Or come disguised as the grim reaper, and whenever he's talking, tap on your hour glass and then run your thumb along the scythe, and occasionally start laughing manically.

Turn up, pretend you understand nothing. Agree to invest with them. Give them 50 CHF.

Re: Guardian Wealth Management

Just had a call from a Birmingham number from a company called GTN telling me that a large number of Swiss expats have been mis-sold inappropriate or poorly performing financial products.

However, when I looked up the number, it‘s only been active since last week and the block of numbers is owned by „Belgacom International Carrier Services SA“. So I‘d guess this is someone trying to hide where they are really calling from and is also a scam of some sort and the whole thing has come full circle.

I've been getting quite a few calls from UK numbers recently, I always answer as they may be suppliers or potential clients. But most are selling from other countries, a few speak only German and yesterday, the number was from Scotland, but it was a girl calling from South Korea, no idea what she wanted to sell as I told her to go away as soon as she started her scripted spiel.

I guess they are targeting Brits using fake UK numbers as we are more likely to answer.

I wonder how they work out you're a Brit? This must be some pre-existing list that was rolled over from one of the previous phone scams.

Must be. I‘d love to know where they originally got my number from though. As far as I know it isn‘t published anywhere and I can‘t think of any databases that could have been hacked that have my nationality, domicile and my phone number.

Re: Guardian Wealth Management

The fees are where these guys make their money. So they are not necessarily aligned with your goal of making you money.

I would suggest reading some of the FIRE literature out there, then read up about the contest set up by Warren Buffet: passive index fund with low fees vs actively managed hedge funds with high fees. I did this and am now looking at Vanguard Index Trackers with low fees.

Thats the best answer, or pay a fee, DO NOT take free advise as it will be very expensive commission based.
Historically my mothers solicitor gave her fixed cost advise, however he rebated 0.25% annual commission he received for about half of the recommendations. My mother ended up with a credit balance with the solicitor which almost paid his fees when my father died, in addition to non chargeable legal advise over many years,

I retired at 52, never heard of FIRE until Phil_MCR asked me if I was follower.
