Paying taxes after leaving Switzerland

Has anyone any experience of paying income tax after having already left Switzerland? Is there anything in particular which is different to normal income tax payments?

Re: Paying taxes after leaving Switzerland

We left permanently in July 2017, still waiting for tax authorities to sort out our final taxes, the most ridiculously, inefficient and slow system, it gives our new accountants a good laugh at the so called Swiss efficiency. Our new country did our first years tax in less than 2 weeks and when talking to them said why should it take longer your taxes are straight forward.

Thanks, what Canton were you in before you left (where you will be paying your taxes to)?

Re: Paying taxes after leaving Switzerland

We were in Kanton Bern, who will eventually get round to working out our tax, there have been no problems, questions or anything, just gross inefficiency, its almost as though they want to control your life after you have left. The official answer is we will do the demand in due course. Might be pushing up the daises before they get round to it and there will be nothing left in the estate to pay them, that will be interesting. Took them 4 months to work out the capital gain when we sold the house, just a few lines of maths.
