Proof of paying taxes for Canadian authorities

So i've just been informed that the Canadian authorities are going to tax my entire Swiss income because I haven't provided proof of paying my taxes in Switzerland. How do I get this proof?

- My salary slips aren't enough and I was taxed at source so I never had to fill out any tax forms.

I've already paid the Canadian government taxes on top of my Swiss taxes but apparently they would like more...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Proof of paying taxes for Canadian authorities

Most likely the Canadian tax authorities will have an official template in French which should be filled in by the tax office here in Switzerland stating that you are liable to pay tax and social contributions in Switzerland.

Then call your tax office here and ask them what it will take for them to officially stamp the document. They will probably charge a fee but that should be possible.

Re: Proof of paying taxes for Canadian authorities

Here is a template from the Danish tax authorities in Danish & French and I suspect that the Canadian authorities have a similar thing otherwise I suppose you can create your own template.

Re: Proof of paying taxes for Canadian authorities

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately the Canadian authorities gave me nothing in terms of a form or template anything. They told me they are not sure what the forms would look like and that the Swiss will have a certificate or form that they give out.

I am just wondering if this is standard practice and how I can go about doing this in the most efficient manner?

Thanks for the template. I think I need proof of exactly how much I have paid. I will contact Canton Vaud to see if they can help me with this.

Re: Proof of paying taxes for Canadian authorities

This is standard practice and I am surprised if the Canadian authorities do not have a standard form available for this. But if not, you can ask if your local tax office can give you an attested statement.
