Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

Anyone have an account with EquatePlus and managed to successfully add Interactive Brokers as a brokerage? I need to do this and am struggling now. Did you manage this?

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

It is also a challenge when you need to set up the transfer order in IB and provide EquatePlus references (i.e. EquatePlus contact details).

More than a month and still no luck to set up a transfer on both platforms. Trying again this week.

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

I did it, however, it's still being processed by Interactive Brokers. You need to inform both EquatePlus and IBKR about the transfer:

- EquatePlus: You need to make a transaction. To do it, you need to add your IBKR financial details including an e-mail: assettransferservice@interactivebrokers.com and a dedicated contact person (you need to raise a ticket and ask IBKR who that contact person is).

- IBKR: You need to set up a Basic FOP Transfer, add broker information and choose your assets.

I was told it takes 20 days for the assets to be transferred.

This is the type of thing where it might just be easiest to use Hargreaves Lansdown.

I can confirm this worked on my end as well, did it last year.
Took a while to find out whether chicken or egg comes first...

Last year transfer took a mere 2 days.
This time already waiting for 15, possibly high traffic period.

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

Thanks. If I may ask:
In Equateplus, which swift did you use and address for IB?
Any info about clearing (ie CREST reference) to be used?

In IB, which email address/contact did you use for EquatePlus?

These are the details I've been given:

Name: Interactive Brokers UK Ltd.
Address: Level 20 Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY
Phone: +41 41 726 9500
Contact Person: Fabrizio - Transfer desk
Email: assettransferservice@interactivebrokers.com - please note that this email is exclusively for bank to bank correspondence.
BIC/SWIFT Code: IBKRUS33XXX

Give it a try, I was told in the worst case it won't work and your funds will be transferred back to EquatePlus.

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

Apologies for bumping this old thread, but I'm in the same boat and am having difficulties transferring my positions out of EP to IB.

IB tells me I will need to create a basic FOP transfer for the incoming position, and also create a transfer request with EP. However, they require contact information from EP that EP is not able to provide me (support is not very helpful).

EP claims I will just need to create a transfer request and that's it, whereas IB tells me I will need to inform both brokerages about the transfer.

Confusing to say the least!

I haven't managed to do this. I always ended up selling in EP and transferring out the cash.

I remember it the other way around - EP needed contact info from IB whilst setting up the transfer, which IB shared with me as in [1].

But I agree the process could be a bit more streamlined.

[1] Your "Kathrin" might vary, after step 6.

I believe selling via EP is a lot more expensive so I'd rather transfer my positions to IB and sell from there.

Thanks, IB had sent me the same. EP however also requires a clearing ID which IB didn't provide me (yet). I need this for adding the IB broker information in EP.

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

Hi all,

Just going through this process myself as well. Both Equate and IB wanted the others details before setting things up.

Finally managed to convince IB to provide the details that Equate wanted to setup the Brokerage account. These details are the same as already posted previously:
Name: Interactive Brokers UK Ltd.
Address: Level 20 Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY
Phone: +41 41 726 9500
Contact Person: Fabrizio - Transfer desk
Email: assettransferservice@interactivebrokers.com - please note that this email is exclusively for bank to bank correspondence.
BIC/SWIFT Code: IBKRUS33XXX

Equate did an authentication check to my mobile and the brokerage account is now setup.

I've now instigated the transfer and must wait up to 20 days.

Fingers crossed...

PS Clearing ID I left blank.

My transfer is in progress. I created an incoming SOP transfer in IB (which has been accepted) and an outgoing transfer in EquatePlus.
I also left the clearing ID blank as IB told me they do not provide this other than to the brokerage that initiates the transfer. I assume EquatePlus has this anyway.

My company covered all the costs of the transfer, not sure how much would EP charge themselves if one was not anymore employed with them.

Somewhere in the random forest of the internet I found 30€ per share transfer (in an NL based account though).
Curious to find out too!

Re: Setting up Interactive Brokers in EquatePlus

Quick update.

My transfer has gone through and I can't see any costs incurred.

Bit of a catch-22 initially as both sides wanted the others details before they would initiate a transfer.

Equate (Computershare) were very vague when supplying contact details. Fortunately the generic address, phone number an email were all satisfactory.
