| | Revolut, no charge for topping up with credit card
I always topped up my Revolut card using a bank transfer as there was a charge for a credit card top-up. However, the bank transfer meant that the transfer wasnt instantaneous. Today, I topped it up with the credit card and they appear to have done away with the charge.

The fee that one is charged for topping up with a credit card is clearly marked underneath the amount one decides to top up with. On this occasion it was clearly marked 'no fee'. It's new. I used the same credit card I always use.

I have topped up this week using a PostFinance credit card and can confirm there was no top-up fee applied.
Also PostFinance do not charge for the credit card transaction, as at present, unlike some other Swiss credit cards, they do not apply a surcharge to non-Swiss transactions that are in CHF.

Thats good to know about postfinance not charging for foreign transactions, rare! Revolut may be seen as Swiss, though, as they have a Swiss IBAN now.

PostFinance has simply not done this as yet. With any luck it will stay this way.
The transaction text on the card statement indicates revolut revolut COM GBR. |

they made it free for home-country emitted cards, and introduced fees for foreign cards. So solved the transfewise hassle and barred those who has EUR cards from instantly topping-up in EUR, for example. https://www.reddit.com/r/Revolut/com...ferwise_topup/ | The following 2 users would like to thank Sultan of Swing for this useful post: | |

I used the Revolut account to collect the transfers and the full amount appeared on my account each time. To top-up via a wire transfer I had to pay, until they introduced CH account, ~5 chf for the international transfer.

Has anybody tried topping up Revolut with a UBS credit card?
Were you charged any fees?

reading through Information sheet for credit cards
it would seem UBS will apply the
"CHF transactions abroad 1.75% processing surcharge"

I've used my Swiss cc, UK cc, S. African cc and finally my German cc (CHF/GBP/ZAR/EUR) and never been charged a fee when transferring money to Revolut.
One small word of warning though, if buying online with Revolut, your purchases are not protected as they would be using a credit card.

would help to learn when did you do above transactions as Revolut keeps on chan.. evolving and so its T&C. Also what is your "home" currency and whether your banks apply said surcharge. Might be you just have lucrative CCs.

I have topped up last week using Migros cumulus credit card and can confirm there was no top-up fee applied by Revolut.
Also Migros Cumulus credit card did not charge for this transaction, otherwise they apply a surcharge to non-Swiss transactions that are in CHF.

I recently tried to send USD 2287 to Hong Kong using my Revolut card. The cost should have been around CHF2300. Instead, it was CHF2500. I have no idea why. Needless, to say, I used another provider.

| | Re: Revolut, no charge for topping up with credit card
I was charged 1037.50 for a top up of 1000.00 swiss francs from my Cornercard credit card. They told me that it was standard to charge a fee for transfers to Revolut or western union etc.
They ended up rescinding the fee as I was not forewarned but it was a hassle.
Btw, I now have a business account with Revolut (which costs 25 euro a month), and transferring money from Postfinance to their GB iban costed me 12 francs.

Why dont you transfer to their Credit Suisse account?
Anyway, I exchanged EUR to CHF with revolut and transferred to a CH account. An unknown intermediary bank took a 12CHF charge on that 1K transfer. Revolut could not tell me the conditions for this charge so imo the ‘free’ international transfers are completely unpredictable and thus useless. Will keep using the card for non-CHF and EUR payments.

I was never charged any fees when topping up Revolut with my UBS Silver Mastercard or UBS Prepaid Visa. However, when using my ZKB Visa from Viseca I was charged a 1.75% fee.
