Vaud canton tax questions

Hello everyone,

I've read a lot of topics in this section and I'm not sure if I understand what is being taxed correctly. Hopefully somebody will be able to provide some insight..

The following is based on Vaud Canton region then for EU national with B-permit, working 100%, not a part of Church memberships, single, with no additional income.

- If salary (12 months) is under 120k/y gross and is taxed at source, with no bonuses or anything then there is nothing additional to worry about.

- If salary (12 months) is 121k/y gross (example) and is taxed at source, plus a bonus of 4% of yearly gross amount, then this would mean a higher tax bracket ? Meaning the overall net-pay would be lower?

- In what situation would the person need to fill out the tax form, instead of being taxed at source? Is it only if you are non-EU or have C-permit?

Thank you

Thank you

If you earn more than the threshold in your Kanton, if you are on a C permit and also (I think) if you are married to a Swiss, to start with.

Income abroad, wealth, bank accounts with pots of money can also lead to having to do a tax return.

Give a call to your tax office and ask? They are nice and helpful people.

PS: also people taxed at source may have to do a tax return and still be taxed at source.
