The default position is that it's 'UK taxable' & tax is deducted under PAYE. To have it paid free of UK tax it's necessary to complete a DT form "DT INdividual'

It's still would count as UK taxable even if zero tax is actually payable due to the personal allowance.

I believe the Swiss tax office is incorrect in its handling of this, if it was me I would challenge their decision.
