CHF from pounds or euros

Can you give advice on the best place to convert pounds or euros in CHF? As I will get my first salary at the end of May and moving to Lausanne mid-April, it means I have to use my money in pounds or euros.

Thank you in advance

Luther

Re: CHF from pounds or euros

If you have a UK address, and UK bank account, try erisfx.co.uk

Only exchange I know of to do all the AML checks online (quick and easy). Only one to show you live interbank rate and the exact margin you pay.

Cheapest of all the others I have used, even more so than those that advertise as best buy, bank beating rates etc. Those are the ones where you never, ever get the rate you saw advertised...

I used to use TorFX, but found out that the public rate they show is better than the rate you get as a customer... I now check each time and erisfx has resulted in me getting around 100gbps MORE per 10k CHF to GBP transaction. Similar if going the other way. Ditto for CHF to Euro. (Not done a GBP Euro yet.)

Have not compared erisfx rates to the card option mentioned above, though. But I would be amazed if it was not better?

(Cue someone to amaze me...)

Regards

Ian

Ian, have you looked into Interactive Brokers? They require a monthly fee, or good sized minimum balance, to maintain your account, but promise FX commissions in the 0.2 bps range. (0.2 bps = 2 per 100,000)
