TransferWise is down

Just a word of warning, TransferWise is down and not working at the moment. Sent my transfer 13th of May, still not received. Have emailed them 3 times and apparently they are having trouble with Deutsche Bank Ag Zurich and most transfers to them have not been completed even though the money has gone from my USB account.

Will update if I hear any more info.

They clear through DB? They themselves do use CS (I think).

Are you sure it is DB or is it blocked for compliance reasons?

Re: TransferWise is down

Worked for me over the weekend. UBS often will block what they consider large amounts before speaking to you to ask if you really want to make the transfer.

Re: TransferWise is down

TransferWise use 2 CHF bank accounts. I sent it to the one ending in 16000. It has gone out of my UBS account fine. Was only 500chf. Email from TransferWise below:

“The main issue is that our partner's system (Deutsche Bank Ag Zurich) is having a technical problem, and the payment from your bank into their deposit account hasn't completed. They're working to sort out what's keeping the payments from posting, but until that time, we're technically not seeing your payment. We were originally told they should have an update today, but that's come and gone with no new information. We're aware that this delay is causing you issues. Once it's sorted, we would be happy to look into fees you've incurred to see if there's anything we can do. This situation is impacting multiple customers, and we will be happy to look into solutions for you.“

DB has had technical issues with their system since the 13th and have not resolved it yet..... being unable to process these kind of transactions for more that a few hours would have put it beyond a technical issue a couple of days ago.

Good thing they are no longer one of our core banks then!

Did you use the same IBAN as me? Ending in 16000?

It should not matter to the system what IBAN you use, the system is up or it is not. It sounds like it is something very specific to the accounts rather than a system issue. You probably need to get on their case and not let them fob you off.

I assumed that the 2 different IBANS corresponded to different banks, hence why one might be working ok. This is not Transferwise that is actually down, it is the bank they use that is having problems.

More interesting would be how the account numbers starts. Specially the digits marked with XX (in case the IBAN starts with CH)
CHzzXXXXXyyyyyyyy

87801 would be Deutsche Bank Zurich.
00230 is UBS Switzerland AG
04835 is Credit Suisse

You can look up the actual bank here:
https://www.six-group.com/interbank-...bc-number.html
Enter the number in the IID field, leading zeros must not be entered, For example enter 230 instead of 00230

Full IBAN and details i used are below. I would advice anyone that is sending money via transferwise to hold off and not use these details:

IBAN: CH94 8780 1003 0014 1600 0

Bank code (BIC/SWIFT): DEUTCHZZXXX

Our bank address:
Deutsche Bank AG
Uraniastrasse 9
8001 Zurich
Switzerland
