Gift Tax Question (non Swiss resident)

I have a question regarding gift tax.
I don't live in Switzerland anymore, but I still have a bank account there, what happens if I receive a gift from a first degree relative that lives inSwitzerland?
Is there a tax liability in Switzerland (specifically in canton Basel Land)?

Absolutely nothing. You have zero connection with Basel Land, unless of course the person donating the money lives there. Being a first degree relative can be a no of things, so if you actually stated the relationship it might help.

hi, it would be my father, and he still lives in Switzerland (Basel Land), I lived there for a year when I was a student, but that was like 3 years ago.

May I ask why this would be?

We don't even know where OP lives or what nationality he has, he should look what his local laws say about this.

As for Basel-land no tax on gifts from parents.

The question is about Swiss taxation, so where the OP lives or his nationality are irrelevant.
